Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n Module for Microcontroller or Microprocessor

Smallest Footprint - 7 mm x 6 mm x 1.2 mm (max)

At 7 x 6 x 1.2 mm, the Type ZX module is the smallest Wi-Fi module in the Murata portfolio. In addition to the Broadcom IC, this small highly integrated module also includes fast clock crystal, RF filter and RF switch. Minimal external circuitry is required to complete a radio design; add an antenna, power source, processor, and associated interface hardware and the radio hardware design is complete. Device engineers may obtain software for Linux and Android directly from Broadcom or third-party. The Type ZX is highly versatile as it can be implemented in a wireless LAN system utilizing a microcontroller or in a scenario with higher-throughput requirements employing a microprocessor.

Streamline Firmware Development with Broadcom WICEDTM SDK

Broadcom Wireless Internet Connectivity for Embedded Devices (WICEDTM) Software Development Kit (SDK) Support WICED SDK is a Broadcom software development system that vastly reduces the effort required to add wireless connectivity to embedded devices. The WICED SDK enables developers to quickly create network connected applications targeted for low-resource microcontrollers.






The WICED SDK includes:

  • An open source build system and toolchain based on GNU make.
  • A GUI IDE based on Eclipse CDT that seamlessly integrates with a programmer and single-step, thread-aware, debugger based on OpenOCD and gdb.
