Support Model

Embedded wireless solutions are by their nature complex. The complexity results in the need for support across a number of disciplines ranging from hardware design to embedded software to regulatory and production. Murata has designed a support structure to offer several options to customers. 

Wi-Fi™ / BT Support Model

The Wi-Fi™ / BT support model requires the customer to purchase a technical support package from Murata. The technical support package enables the customer telephone and email access to Murata’s wireless system experts who answer critical questions, perform design reviews, and provide system software integration guidance.
The wireless regulatory and production test phases are also critical to product success. Murata’s experts provide support and guidance to speed time to market.

In addition, the support model includes several legal items that must be completed. Online registration provides a mechanism for Murata to comply with export control laws and corporate policy in a speedy fashion such that design work can proceed immediately.

If driver software will be distributed by Murata, a software license agreement is necessary. The registration process will provide guidance steps leading to the software license agreement. If however, the customer already has access to the platform software support package from the semiconductor provider, and will not need Murata to distribute software, the software license step is not necessary.

The purchase of the technical support package enables Murata to support the customer with the latest technology wireless module products that were previously only available to the largest companies in the world.

Customized Platform Support

Customized platform support is available to select business opportunities from Murata Wireless Solutions. In addition, Murata’s software partners provide another means of attaining a customized platform solution. Obviously, a customized platform requires new investment with dedicated software engineering expertise. Although we encourage the customer to adopt an available platform, the purchase of a custom platform package is available. Begin with the registration form to begin the support process.

Detailed product documentation and software is available to Murata Direct customers following the completion of an NDA and SLA.
